I thought I might share with you all a few photos from my trip with my family to California for Christmas ๐Ÿ™‚

It was our first Christmas away from home.
I found myself on Christmas day lying by the pool in the sun listening to songs like “let it snow” haha it was odd, but I am definitely not complaining! My family tried to bring as many traditions as we could to California, like the stockings we hung.

And we even bought a little Christmas tree from Target and decorated it!

These next few photos I would like to call: “The Colours of California” I know, I’m a dorkย ๐Ÿ˜›

Christmas light bokeh.

If anyone is interested in seeing one of these images in their living room, bathroom, etc. you can find them and order HERE! I know I am getting a print of the last one for my room ๐Ÿ˜›ย

Mmm sunshine. Thanks to my brother for taking this photo of my parents and I!

And thanks to the people who read (or just look at the photos) my blog!
I really appreciate it ๐Ÿ™‚

Love, Marie

Sarah and Tyler’s wedding was on a rainy evening in November. But, that didn’t get anyone down. The whole day was filled with laughter, love, and sparklers!

I had a lot of fun shooting this wedding, from the getting ready to the very end of the night I was entertained. Everyone was having fun and that’s the way a wedding should be ๐Ÿ˜›

Thank you Sarah and Tyler. You are seriously great people with a love forย each otherย that just seems so natural and effortless. I felt so lucky to have been able to capture your wedding day!

And a big thank you to my friend and second-shooter for this wedding; Tijana Martin! ๐Ÿ™‚

Now, please enjoy the photos!

Wedding Details:

Amazing shoes and dress.

Beautiful.

Such a funny flask ๐Ÿ˜›

Absolutely stunning Sarah.

Funny story about the guys…haha I knocked on the door and a groomsmen answered looking like this:

Star Wars cuff-links! SO cool.

Thanks to Tijana for getting this shot!ย

Extra-long sparklers!

Super fun group ๐Ÿ™‚

Instead of clinking, guests had to donate to the honey moon fund jar in order for the couple to kiss.

Love this cake! It’s all edible.

Prints from their engagement shoot which is featured HERE.

You are never too old to sit on your mom’s lap ๐Ÿ˜›

Then we did some fun long exposure sparkler shots!!This one kind-of looks like a Cinderella coach to me haha

Hello!

I just wanted to wish everyone out there a MERRY CHRISTMAS!! And let people know that from now until December 28th, 2011 I will be in California and therefore out of the office. My family and I are spending our first Christmas not at home. So, I will get back to all email messages, facebook, etc. when I return!

But, aside from that I wanted to share a headshot session I did with a seriously awesome and handsome boy; Nicholas Ekren. I know him very well and he is one of the sweetest guys I know and he is also a talented actor! ๐Ÿ™‚

I had such an awesome time with these two lovely ladies! They are room-mates at Trinity Western University and thought it would be fun to get some photos together – boy, were they right. We had SO much fun! It was Halloween, so to celebrate a little bit they decided to go to a nearby pumpkin patch (such a great idea!) and then to the pier afterwards. We pet animals, threw gorgeous fall-coloured leaves in the air, sat in the pumpkin patch, blew bubble gum on the pier, and Rachel found a perfect maple leaf that we took photos with then let free into the water after haha. Also, I overcame my slight child-hood fear of turkeys and goats (well sort-of overcame it, I’m still working on it). Anyway, enjoy these photos! Thank you so much for a fantastic time Rebecca and Rachel! Love you girls. I am hoping that more room-mate photos/friend portraits will come my way! ๐Ÿ™‚

Models.Such cuties.
Whaaaaat?! Rachel is seriously tall ๐Ÿ˜›ย SO beautiful you two.Their cute pumpkin-face creations ๐Ÿ™‚ย Pumpkin heads!Love this red pier.

Bye-bye leaf.

PS If you are interested in getting some nice photos with your best-friend, room-mate, mom, etc. let me know HERE! I would love to take your photo.

This post is something I have wanted to do for a while, something creative and fun.
There are many reasons why I wanted to do this series of photos, but here are a few:

– To test out my awesome new lens; the 35mm 1.4.
– To buy helium balloons, sadly the helium ran out before I could suck it up and make funny voices haha.
– To do something a bit different for myself, photography-wise. I had been shooting a lot of weddings this summer and not too much else.
– To try out some new editing techniques in Lightroom.
–ย To let viewers of my photos get more of an idea of my personality.
–ย To have some fun with someone that is very important in my life.

So, without further ado please enjoy these photos and let me know what you think! ๐Ÿ™‚

Lift-off!!
If you hadn’t already figured it out: the girl with the red balloon is my amazing friend and lovely assistant on engagement shoots; Allissa Best! Isn’t she pretty? ๐Ÿ™‚ย Gorgeous.Such a cutie!ย Then we switched it up!!Red Toms are what I wear on most of the weddings I shoot – SO comfy.I can fly too!ย With the 35mm we can take lg photos ๐Ÿ˜›

Allissa is in Jamaica right now with another one of my amazing friends; Aron. They left for a month and are helping out at an orphanage there. I miss them, but I know there are doing great things in Jamaica and are a blessing to those around them. I love you two and I am excited for you to return home soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

Love, Marie

PS For the fashionistas out there; Aliissa’s dress is from ModCloth (so cute!) and mine is from Hollister.
