Okay here is the third instalment of my “Best of 2012” series. (If you want to see the full blog post of the photos, just click on the links below!) Even though I don’t specialize in it, I really enjoy taking family photos! 2012 was the first year I took photos of a newborn baby, which was really sweet. I got to take photos of all different ages of people; babies, 2 year old, 4 year old, teenagers, adults, and also a few dogs! Speaking of dogs…the biggest change for my family in 2012 was getting two puppies! Gradie and Brodie:

I specialize mainly in engagements and weddings, but sometimes I get the pleasure of taking “couples” photos. I really enjoy them because they are casual, lots of fun, and I have the opportunity to be a bit more creative. Here is hoping to have more couples photos in 2013!  🙂

WOW! I can’t believe 2012 is soon going to be over. In order to celebrate I am going to do something that I wanted to do last year, but didn’t get a chance – a “Best of 2012” post! Compiling my personal favourite photos that I have taken over the past year. I started mentally picking photos the last couple months and today looking at all the photos, I realized they really needed to be separated into categories. So, over the next few days I will reveal categories and my favourite photos from that category (engagements, family, weddings, etc.) First category is: “Portraits (mostly headshots)” photos of 1 person basically. Enjoy! And I will reveal the next category and photos tomorrow!

Happy New Year’s Eve Everyone!

This engagement session I am about to share was so much fun. We hauled a couch, an old tv to and other props to the beach in Tsawassen and took some sweet photos! 🙂

So, without further ado let me introduce you to the couple:

Alanna and Kyle met a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away…haha just kidding, they met on Salt Spring Island while they were both on a missions trip! They spent a good part of their relationship marathoning TV series, like FRIENDS (one of my personal favourites), so we thought having a couch and tv in their engagement shoot was very appropriate. One of their favourite dates they ever had was going to New York and being at time square watching the ball drop for New Years! SO cool.

After many many years of dating Kyle decided he really wanted to marry this girl. He totally surprised Alanna by taking her aside at Winskill Park, got on one knee and proposed to her (minutes before her staff party). Awww! When asked what they love most about each other Kyle said: “her generous heart” and Alanna said “his sense of humour.”

This next series of photos is Alanna trying to get Kyle to pay attention to her instead of the TV (it was ridiculously hard for Kyle not to laugh during this haha).

Haha and then he couldn’t hold in the laughter anymore 🙂
