This wedding has taken me too long to blog, but here it is finally! My dear friend Kari and her wonderful Andre got married last October!  🙂

We shot their engagement session in the summer, you may view it HERE along with their super cute proposal story.

I couldn’t have been more excited for Kari on her wedding day! The ceremony was beautiful, I cried multiple times whilst taking photos. These two have such a sweet and genuine connection, you can just tell through the photos. We got some lovely photos at Deer Lake Park. I don’t have much else to say but how much I adore these two and wish them all the best in their marriage!

Haha love you Kari!

TOMS wedding shoes!

LOVE Andre’s reaction to his bride.

I am getting teary eyed just looking at these photos again.

Kari loves scrapbooking, so she made a scrapbook of her and Andre’s engagement session for people to sign as a guestbook.

Such a loving bunch of groomsmen!

And such a beautiful bunch of bridesmaids!

The guys took a moment to chase away the Canadian geese haha.

You can feel the love there  🙂

Aren’t they the cutest!?

It’s a brenizer!

And then magical light happened…eeeeee I was SO stoked.

After those beautiful portraits, its reception time!

Okay…so I debated putting this next photo in, but it’s too funny not to share. My family and Kari’s family have been friends since Kari and I were in elementary school together, so my family was invited to the wedding naturally. One of the games played at the reception was basically “Copy the Kiss,” all couples who were attending the wedding had their names put in a bowl and were randomly picked throughout the night. I think there was maybe 4-6 couples picked overall out of at least 70 couples I would say. Of all the names to draw, they drew my parents!! Kari and Andre had to copy their passionate kiss…and I took this photo without puking haha just kidding I love my parents! And I am so glad that after almost 25 years they are still in love! 🙂

Andre surprised Kari with a beautiful serenade of a song he wrote.

And they danced.

  • m - Hi Marie,

I love your pictures. I was wondering what type of lens you used to take those awesome shots.

I also wanted to tell you I love the way you lay out your pictures, it’s like your telling a story.

    Great Work.ReplyCancel

  • Ruth - What for a lovely wedding!!ReplyCancel

I am SO excited to show you these 2 beautiful products! They are both part of my Glamour/Boudoir Marathon coming up on April 27, 2013.

The album is a gorgeous 6×6 album from Vision Art, their albums are spectacular. And the magazine is such a fun and sweet design by Galler.ee (another company that I love) customized by me. The magazine printing was done by BayPhoto, the printing on both these products is amazing. I will let the photos do the rest of the talking!

If you love these as much as I do – sign up for my Glamour/Boudoir Marathon and you will get 50$ off either the magazine or album!  🙂

Please feel free to like, tweet and pin these!

Love, Marie

PS If you didn’t notice, we like Ryan Gosling  😉

In preparation for my glamour/boudoir marathon coming up, I thought I would share some glamour photos of Amanda! As I kind-of explained in my last blog post, glamour photography is more about the eyes and face rather than the body. Glamour Photography, as reinvented by Australian photographer Sue Bryce, is basically modern contemporary portraiture with a focus on fashion & beauty. If I had to use one word to describe it, I would say “connection.” And it wouldn’t be glamour photography if we didn’t have gorgeous makeup and hair as well.

Amanda graciously let me share a photo of her without makeup (she looks beautiful with or without makeup!) just so you have an idea of the before and after. In this case, she did her own makeup to match her style and I am all about the red lips.

So beautiful.

So, we probably won’t be able to do any pool photos like this for the marathon haha but I just had to share the image.

PS I got my makeup done the other day by Celina who will be doing the makeup for the glamour/boudoir marathon, here are a couple photos we took after!

No retouching here folks! Celina is THAT good.

If this is something you might be interested in, email me at marie@marieskerlphoto.com and sign up for the glamour/boudoir marathon!  🙂

I am excited to announce that I am doing my first Glamour/Boudoir Marathon on April 27th, 2013! Yay!  🙂

The reason why I am calling it glamour AND boudoir is because I really just want to give women an opportunity to feel beautiful and that doesn’t have to mean being in skimpy lingerie. Yes – that is mostly what “boudoir” photography is and if you want that I can definitely do it, but I am all about bringing out the natural beauty of a person through their eyes and face, which is more “glamour.” I hope that makes sense. In my opinion, this is one of the best gifts you can give your man and yourself.

The glamour/boudoir session is $300 and includes:
– professional makeup
– professional hair touch-ups (mostly you will do your hair yourself)
– 1 hour photo-shoot in hotel suite
– DVD of images and 10-15 retouched photos

– $50 credit towards an album or magazine of your photos

I am really excited about this! Email me at: marie@marieskerlphoto.com if you are interested! Space is limited.
