I have been so excited to share this Richmond wedding! 🙂  Kirsten is a friend of mine from high school and I was honoured that her and Adam chose me to photograph their wedding!

Kirsten and Adam met on a blind date at Starbucks about 4 years ago and have basically been together ever since! To read more about their story and Adam’s super cute proposal, check out their engagement session. Their ceremony was held at the church they attend; Richmond Alliance Church and I was seriously a sniffling mess, I cried way more than I thought I would (I come to expect that I will cry now at almost all weddings haha). Kirsten and Adam’s vows to each other were so heartfelt and beautiful. There was a lot of emotions throughout the entire day and you will see them in the photos. I included a lot of photos…this may be my longest post yet. I just really wanted readers to feel the same emotions that were felt during the day and I hope I achieved that!

We went to London Heritage Farms for the portraits and continued the reception at Sunrise Golf Course in Surrey. A few words from Kirsten: “The theme was a rustic/romantic one and so my colour was maroon and we added little touches of romance in the decor with lace painted mason jars, maroon floral arrangements, and we used different words that represent love and marriage to mark tables instead of table numbers. The rustic came in with the white box vases that Adam made for the center pieces from an old wooden fence, picture frames for the table “words” (instead of numbers) that Adam made from the same fence, the old barn windows that held our seating charts, and the hay bales decorating the entrance. The boys boutonnieres were maroon calla lilies (there were also calla lilies in the bouquets) in honour of my grandmother who I was very close to. That was the only flower that was an absolute must have! Something cute, I guess, is that for my “something blue” I had Adam’s Uncle, who made our rings, take the blue aquamarine stone out of my purity ring and insert it on the inside of Adam’s wedding band as a surprise. I had his ring attached to my bouquet as I walked down the aisle.” Their wedding was such a beautiful day, I hope you enjoy the photos!

Such a beautiful bride! As a surprise for Adam, Kirsten had an aquamarine stone from her purity ring put into Adam’s wedding band! So sweet.

Loved Kirsten’s dress! It was perfect.

Kirsten’s dad seeing her for the first time on her wedding day:

The wedding truck had some nice bumper decoration 😛

For the guest book everyone was photographed with a polaroid camera, then all the photos were later put together in an album with nice messages for the happy couple.

Letting their little girl go to the man of her dreams.

Married! Now off for my favourite part of the day; the portraits!

Maroon has been Kirsten’s favourite colour from as long as I can remember.

Yup – we did this photo.

The lovely ladies!

Serious GQ models here.

Such a gorgeous couple!

Polariod guest book.

Gotta love the shoe game. I never get tired of it!

This next question was; who’s feet smell worse?

Adam had a few words to say to his beautiful bride.

So much emotion! I just love it, I get a bit teary eyed looking through these again. Congratulations you two lovebirds!! <3

I had SO much fun on this engagement session with the lovely Jacqui and Walter! They are such a sweet and sincere couple. Jacqui leads a group of girls at her church, the girls always thought that Jacqui and Walter would make such a great couple. A couple of the girls’ mothers agreed as well. So, they secretly hatched a plan to set Jacqui up with Walter, unbeknownst to the two of them. During a church baseball game one of the girls mother made her move introducing the two! Jacqui and Walter found that they had a lot in common, A LOT in common. On their first date Walter took Jacqui to see the BC Lions, it was her first ever actual real date! And after dating for a while Walter knew Jacqui was the one.

Although Jacqui and Walter had been dating for quite a long time, they had never met each others parents (not because they didn’t want to, they just live further away). So, on the day Walter wanted to propose he called Jacqui’s father from the car (while Jacqui was inside) and asked for his permission to marry his daughter. Her father was a bit reluctant naturally, but he eventually agreed. Walter took Jacqui to Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver for a hike. When they reached the top, admiring the view over the water to downtown, Walter got on one knee and proposed! Jacqui obviously said yes!

For their engagement session, we went to a lovely park in Langley. And after getting some nice photos, we decided to bring out the paint! That’s right, we did a paint engagement! Jacqui loves to paint, so they bought a canvas and had an amazing, colourful paint war – ending in a finger painting masterpiece. It was SO much fun! Enjoy the photos!  🙂

Aren’t they so cute!?

Love these shots.

Time to start the paint war!

Jacqui & Walter added their wedding bible verse to their amazing artwork.

SO much colour! I love it!

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  🙂

Jacqui and Walter; God does have awesome plans for you and if I might add, your future is looking pretty bright! I am SO excited to photograph your wedding this coming Saturday! YAY!
