This is Me

Hi! I’m Marie. Before you hire me, I want you to know a few things about me first:

• I love making people smile and I love taking photos!
• Sunsets and adventures make me the happiest.
• I am obsessed with travelling and exploring new places. Please take me anywhere.
• Fair warning: I am a hugger. When you meet me, I will probably hug you.
• On a more serious note: I’m a 28 year old widow. My husband passed away in a car accident just 5 days after our 1st year wedding anniversary. This has been a huge transition in my life. But I have faith and trust that God has a plan for me greater than I can imagine.
• Before Chris passed away we adopted a German Shorthaired pointer pup named Decoy. He has tons of energy, loves to run and he gets me outside everyday. He’s also obsessed with ducks and pizza. He started his own Instagram: @decoythegsp.
• Photography is not my only passion. I have also been doing some modelling and exploring the world of fitness.
• I was a fit model for the clothing company Tentree.
• Fixer Upper is my favourite HGTV show. I absolutely adore Chip and Joanna Gaines.
• I quote lines from FRIENDS all the time.
• Miss Congeniality is my favourite movie, just like Chandler haha.

My Style

I love getting outside and exploring new places, having adventures. But, even more than that I love getting to know my clients! What is your story? What makes you smile? When I am photographing, I try to capture as many real, natural moments as possible. I truly love getting to know the couples and clients I work with and always try to create photos that embody their personalities. You can get a pretty good idea of my style from my Instagram feed.

My Gear & Experience

After graduating from the Professional Photo-Imaging Program at Langara College in 2011 I started my photography business. Through the years I have worked with amazing photographers throughout the lower mainland. My camera of choice is the Canon 5D Mark III (I have 2 of them) and I have a back-up Canon 5D Mark II. I use pro Canon lenses including the 85mm 1.2, 35mm 1.4, 50mm 1.4, 70-200 2.8, 100mm 2.8 macro and 17-40mm 4. I also use Canon flashes, pocket wizards, and other fun photo equipment.

I am a Mac girl and I edit all my photos in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. I love seeing images come to life when I edit them and I get excited whenever I deliver photos to my clients. If you have any more questions you can refer to my FAQ page.

Where I work

I shoot on location throughout the Greater Vancouver area and am currently located in Delta, BC. I am available to travel as well! If you like what you see, please contact me and we can create some awesome photos together!  🙂
